What this page is. The SQUARES Data Tools and Self Report pages create a CSV file each day, downloaded to each implementer's or learner's device. This page — the Data Accumulator — collects those daily CSV files into one growing record, so you can see any learner or setting over weeks and months instead of one day at a time. It is the same kind of tool as the Data Tools page: a single file that runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored on a website or sent anywhere.

This file lives on your computer

You downloaded this file once from the SQUARES website. Keep it anywhere you like (your Documents folder is a good spot) and open it by double-clicking — it opens in your browser like a web page, but it is not on the web. You never need to download it again, and you never need to redo any accumulation: everything you have imported is still here the next time you open it.

Where your data actually lives

Your accumulated record is saved in two places, both on this device:

1 — Your data file (recommended). Click Connect / create data file… in the bar at the top and save a file called SQUARES_data.json somewhere you keep important things. From then on, every import is written into that file automatically. It is a plain file you own — you can copy it, back it up, or move it to a new computer. In Chrome and Edge this page reconnects to it automatically each time you open it.

2 — Browser storage (automatic). The record is also kept inside this browser on this device, so nothing is lost between visits even before you connect a data file. Browser storage can be erased if you ever "clear browsing data," which is exactly why the data file in step 1 is recommended — and why the ⬇ Download backup button is always there. In Safari and Firefox, which can't hold a live file connection, use Download backup after importing and Load backup… if you ever need to restore.

Your daily routine

1. Collect data on the SQUARES Data Tools page as usual, and download the CSV for each sheet you used. Learners using the Self Report page download (or send you) their CSV the same way. 2. Open this page and drag those files onto the Import CSVs tab — all at once is fine, and each file is recognized automatically. 3. That's it. Files you already imported are skipped, so it is always safe to re-drop your whole Downloads folder; a corrected re-download of the same sheet and day replaces the earlier one.

What each tab shows

Tabs 1–7 mirror the sheets on the Data Tools page: each one is the accumulator for that sheet, holding every day's file you have imported — 1 · Whole-Group (Whole-Group Observation), 2 · Interval (Individual Interval Recording), 3 · Group Lesson (Group Lesson Data Sheet), 5 · Monthly (Monthly Roll-Up), 6 · Distribution (Setting-Wide Color Distribution), and 7 · Volatility (Emotional Volatility). Progress Monitor and Self Report do the same for those tools. 4 · Family Report builds the implementer-to-family progress report, pre-filled from your accumulated data, and keeps a running log of every report you save for each learner. ★ Learner Report is the payoff: pick any learner, a date range, and which of their data to include, and see everything about that learner in one place — whether they appear in whole-group sheets, their own self reports, or both. All Data lists every imported session and lets you remove one.

Privacy

Exactly like the Data Tools page: no learner data is uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server. CSV files are read on this device, and the accumulated record lives only in your data file and this browser. Treat the data file with the same care as any learner record on your computer.

Drop your SQUARES CSV files here Or click to choose files. You can drop many at once — each file is recognized automatically (Sheets 1 · Whole-Group, 2 · Interval, 3 · Group Lesson, 5 · Monthly, 6 · Distribution, 7 · Volatility, plus Progress Monitor and Self Report). Files you already imported are skipped, so it is always safe to re-drop your whole Downloads folder.

Privacy: files are read on this device only. Your accumulated data lives in your own data file (or this browser) and never leaves your computer.

Whole-Group Observation (Sheet 1) — accumulated. Every Sheet 1 CSV you have imported, one per date and setting. Open a day to see the full observation grid exactly as recorded. EV (Emotional Volatility) auto-computed on the sheet is carried through here.
Individual Interval Recording (Sheet 2) — accumulated. Every Sheet 2 CSV, one per learner and date. The chart tracks each learner's EV across days; open a day to see the interval-by-interval record.
Group Lesson Data Sheet (Sheet 3) — accumulated. Every Sheet 3 CSV, one per unit and date. Percentage is based only on the trials actually run; suggested pass = 80%. Open a lesson to see every learner's score and result.
Monthly Roll-Up (Sheet 5) — accumulated. Every Sheet 5 CSV, one per learner and month: weekly Mix %, Value mean and Distance mean, the monthly means, and the 50-trial mastery-check probes (X.20, suggested pass 80%).
Setting-Wide Color Distribution (Sheet 6) — accumulated. Every Sheet 6 CSV, one per setting and week — a setting-wide snapshot, not tied to any one learner, laid side by side so you can watch the distribution change over the year.
No Setting-Wide Color Distribution (Sheet 6) files imported yet.
Emotional Volatility (Sheet 7) — accumulated. Every Sheet 7 CSV, one per learner and date. EV is the total distance the state travels across the map — a description of movement, not a score of good or bad. It is computed the same way as on the Whole-Group and Progress-Monitor tools, so the numbers are comparable.
Progress Monitor — accumulated. The latest Progress Monitor CSV for each learner: units mastered per level (each level has 20 units) and mastery checks. Import a fresh Progress Monitor CSV whenever it changes.
Self Report — accumulated. Every Self Report CSV, one per learner and day: their check-ins, the colors of their day, and how much their feelings moved (EV).
No Self Report files imported yet. Learners download these from the SQUARES Self Report page.
Extract one learner from everything you have accumulated. Pick a learner, set a date range, and choose which of their data to include. A learner only ever shows the data that exists for them — one may appear in whole-group sheets, another may only have self reports, another may have both plus volatility maps.
Import some CSV files first, then pick a learner above.
Implementer-to-Family Progress Report (Sheet 4) — built from accumulated data. The same friendly one-page report as Sheet 4 on the Data Tools page, but here it can draft itself: pick a learner (and optionally a date range above) and the report drafts itself — level, period, focus and highlights are drawn from what you have imported; Pre-fill from data re-drafts it any time. Edit any wording, then download the PDF. Blank fields are simply left off the page.

The report is built on this device and downloaded by you. Saved reports live only in your accumulated record.

The data behind this report

Everything on record for this learner in the selected range — a live narrative summary on top, then the full catalogued data series the report draws from. Both re-draft instantly when you change the learner or the dates. Open any section to check the raw numbers while you write. Tick Attach data appendix above to include these tables in the downloaded PDF.

Report log

Every report you save is catalogued here as part of the learner's record — a running series of the notes that went home. Pick a learner to see just their reports, open any one to reread it, edit it in the form, or download its PDF again. Saved reports also show up in the ★ Learner Report extraction and in All Data.
